Marketing 101: How Do I Get My Software Installed on Every Computer In the World?

I recently had a very interesting talk with a guy named Buzz.  Buzz is the man in charge at a small software company named ActiveWords.  What ActiveWords does is provide what you could simply describe as "Keyboard Macros on Steriods and Crack".  For example, you could define a "active word" that recognized when you typed "qumsft [TAB][TAB]" and it would fire off a browser and grab a stock quote from www.nasdaq.com for Microsoft.   Essentially what they have done is create a "virtual navigation tool using keyboard input" (and it can feed into other applications beyond just browsers). 

So, here's the question.  If you have a truly horizontal product, i.e. one that the company views as a universal tool, and it's client side , how do you make it widely available or:

How do I get My Software Installed On Every Computer in the World?

Here's the analysis and what I would do if I was in their shoes.

  1. Microsoft
  2. AOL
  3. Kazaa
  4. Opera
  5. Netscape
  6. Mozilla
  7. Compaq / HP / Dell / Etc
